About me
I'm the Director of the Creative Spaces and Learning Technologies department, a community of Library experts and learning spaces (the Computer & Video Game Archive, ScholarSpace, and the Shapiro Design Lab) dedicated to facilitating creative, playful exploration and use of tools and technologies. In addition to my work at the University of Michigan, I'm a filmmaker, visual artist, and podcast producer. I have a PhD from the University of Minnesota’s Comparative Studies in Discourse and Society program, where I completed a multimodal dissertation on immigrant hip-hop in Minnesota. I was a Council on Library and Information Resources Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Minnesota Libraries, where I founded the Minnesota Hip-Hop Collection, part of the Givens Collection at the University of Minnesota Libraries.
