Jessica joined the staff of the Digital Studies Institute as the Program Manager of the DISCO Network Grant in June 2021. Previously, she managed the U.S. Department of Education National Resource Center Grants for LSA’s Center for Southeast Asian Studies and the Center for Middle Eastern & North African Studies. She holds a dual master's degree in Southeast Asian Studies & Public Policy from the University of Michigan. Her research interests center on the role of civil society organizations in creating social change. Her work has specifically focused on issues of Buddhist social and environmental activism, interreligious dialogue, contemplative studies, community-base development, and trauma informed grantmaking. Outside of work, Jessica enjoys writing, traveling, and film photography. She is a practitioner and meditation instructor of Vipassana meditation.
