DSI faculty members Germaine Halegoua and research team of Ellie Abrons, Matthew Bui, Tung-Hui Hu, and Apryl Williams have been awarded an Institute for Humanities Collaboratory Proposal Development Grant in Spring 2024 to explore the concept of “algorithmic reparation” – which brings together theories of intersectionality with acts of repair, with the goal of recognizing and rectifying structural inequity – to critical cultural studies of AI and “smart” technologies and towards formulating avenues for algorithmic and AI reform.
