Digital Studies Prof. Christian Sandvig has received $1.1m from the National Science Foundation to study Algorithmic Media. A team of researchers from the University of Illinois and the University of Michigan will collaborate on "Beyond the Black Box," a project to investigate how users think about social media platforms that automatically sort and filterinformation.
